Sub Domains

Don’t forget to remember the sub domain url. It is sent to you via email when you sign up. When you sign up at skinnyboard.com. You are given a sub domain, please use this when you are logging into skinnyboard. If you signed up for a free account it will look something like: http://company#.skinnyboard.com. The sub domain is customizable with a paid account. Regards, Josh |

Do you foresee any issues with using a DNS CNAME record as an alias to the generated sub-domains? It went fine with Uservoice.com but didn’t with a site hosted at Site5.com. So I figured I’d ask. Once an issue I am waiting to see resolved is working I will come back and post my findings since it will help users in remembering the URL. |

Hi Hakke, We did a little digging and here is our findings. Making a cname to a domain name of yours will not work because of the SSL using a custom domain will result in a security exception. A 301 redirect is what we recommend. http://forum.37signals.com/basecamp/forums/3/to… Hope this helps. Josh |
