Topic: Community / Get to know the SkinnyBoard Team Hey, I’ve been working on Skinnyboard since I started working as a co-op student at Fluid Media in April of 2009, and have watched it evolve into a great piece of software. I’m now a full time employee here at Fluid Media, and continue to work on Skinnyboard and other projects. |

Topic: The NEW Skinnyboard v2 2010 / skinnyboard v2 Updates Hello Fellow Skinnyboard users, We are in process of overhauling skinny-board to better serve you. The largest improvements are unlimited boards for paid users. The second major feature is allowing users to delete as well as archive boards. There will no longer be a tiered system with board plans. We will be offering a free plan and a paid plan. We’re keeping everything simple. The UI will be changing drastically based on feedback from the past year and beyond. What does this mean for current paid users? - your data will be seamlessly transferred to the new system . More information to come once we get closer to launch. Active users will be receiving an email closer to launch with more details on the launch plan so the operation is as seamless as possible. |

Topic: Feature Request / Please add ability to track time spent Hi Paul, You are absolutely right. Burn-downs can get messed up that way. We can look into adding a feature that prompts users to update their hours at the end of a specified work day schedule to fix that issue. Thanks for your input. I’ll pass it along. Regards, |

Topic: Feature Request / Please add ability to track time spent Hi Josh, One issue I can foresee is the case when team members forget to update there tasks, go home and come in the next morning and then update there tasks. Surely this would make a mess of the burndown charts? Is there anyway to specify for example 5 hours was left on a task last night so that the burndows dont get messed up? Thanks Paul |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Product Backlog story visualization Hi Tuler, Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for your inquiry. I understand where you are coming from. I have noticed this in our own usage of skinnyboard.com. We tend to use a different format when writing our user stories. I’ll put in a note for expansion of both areas in our version 2.0 coming out soon. Here is an example of how you may be able to get around only seeing “As a master user I want to …" in your titles. Title: ADMIN – Add Contractor Account Description: AAA, I want to be able to enter Contractor user information. The fields are: Regards, |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Product Backlog story visualization In my product backlog the story yellow box is too small, and the title cannot be read, even if I expand the box. Imagine if I have several stories that start with “As a master user I want to”… Is there anything I can do? |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Basecamp To-Do Import Hi michelreid, 1. Just use your base basecamp URL. e.g http://BCaccount.basecamphq.com 2. With the switch to Open ID, it should still work. Let me know how you make out. Regards, JT |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Basecamp To-Do Import Hello, I’d like to import all the To-Dos from one of our Basecamp jobs. I have two questions, based on my failure to get it to work right now: 1) Do I use the Basecamp URL of the individual job? e.g. https://MyBasecampAccount.basecamphq.com/projec… 2) Now that Basecamp is using OpenID, will this still work? I’m asking, as I’ve tried the above, with my OpenID URL and password, but it’s kicking back an error. Thanks! |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Free to Paid Upgrade and User Permissions I recently upgraded to a paid account, and I apologize in advance for the newb questions. It seems I’ve hit a couple roadblocks. 1. I would like a custom sub-domain now that I have a paid account, but am unable to locate the area in which I set this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Skinnyboard v2.0 release Hi all, This is a preliminary update to all the users of the forum that skinnyboard.com will be updated (date to come) sometime within the next couple weeks. A new pricing model will also be introduced; details to follow. What does this mean for you? 1. If you have a free skinnyboard.com account. You will be sent a notification that we are updating to a new version. Unfortunately with the new technology skinnyboard is using, we cannot keep all the data. However, if you still use skinnyboard you can request to have it ported. 2. All paid subscribers data will be ported and ready for them to use once they sign up again. We are sorry for the inconvenience. What’s new in Skinnyboard v2.0? - Much much faster! |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Can't create a new sprint Hi David, Yes, we can do that for you. If I understand correctly you want to move 2 sprint boards to another product backlog. Please email support@fluidmedia.com the following information and we’ll get that done for you. 1. The 2 board ID’s that would wish to be moved. The ID is at the end of the URL on the board. i.e (example.skinnyboard.com/boards/###### 2. The origin of boards currently. It will most likely be a product backlog URL with an ID at the end of it as well. 3. The backlog/destination of where you want them to go. Will most likely be another product backlog. Once you send that information to me, I will send you a confirmation when it is complete. Regards, Josh |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Can't create a new sprint I have upgraded. Is there a way to move sprints, I created 2 in the wrong board and I don’t want to waste them. If not is there someone I can email to get them to manually move them in the database? Thanks |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Can't create a new sprint OK, my 2 gripes are: 1. There is no way to delete a sprint once it is made / completed, even if for us, there is no ‘added value’ in keeping it. (http://forum.skinnyboard.com/forums/skinnyboard… 2. There is no indication when we click the ‘Create sprint’ link that the reason for it doing nothing is that we are out of boards, where is the ‘Click here to upgrade’ A better pricing model may be one that limits the number of concurrent sprints / accounts instead of one that caps out, why would we upgrade to have 35 more boards when we will run out of those in a couple of months? We would rather pay each time we add another team member. PS: Created my 4th account as it logged me out and refuses to let me log in on my last account, I suspect it is because I have not activated it (did not get the email) but can not be sure as it gives me zero errors when I log in, just reloads the log in form. A simple ‘incorrect username / password, click here to reset your password’ or ‘that account is not activated, click here to re-send activation email’ would be very very helpful. |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Can't create a new sprint Hi David, I noticed you have created 15 sprint boards on your account. Under the small account terms you have filled up your account to its full potential. You have two options: 1. Upgrade your account for access to 35 more boards Hope this helps, Regards, Josh |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Completed Stories Hi pfarago, Stories currently do not get removed as they are completed. I have noted this as a new feature that could be added. We do show progress based on hours. The PB and all the sprints associated with the PB are all connected. For example – if you have a sprint1 with 20 hours total, and sprint 2 with 40 hours total, you PB will show a total of 60 hours on it. Now, if you have a task assigned 5 hours on sprint1 and it gets moved to done. 5 hours will be subtracted from both the PB and the and associated sprint. Therefore, you will have 15 hours remaining on your sprint1, and 55 hours total remaining on your PB. Hope this answers your question. If it is not adding/subtracting properly then it is a bug and we will take a look. Regards, Josh |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Completed Stories I added two stories to my sprint, the tasks for one story are all marked as Done and the other doesn’t have any task (or hours) associated to it. When you look at the PB for the sprint it looks like neither of the stories have been completed (both have effort level and both show 0 hrs yet one has all the hours completed), even the birds eye view doesn’t show the Story as done. |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Removing a Story from a Sprint I think the easiest way to do this is in the dd of Move to Sprint, add it a blank sprint or one that it says backlog |

Topic: SkinnyBoard Support / Removing a Story from a Sprint Hi pfarago, Unfortunately, you can only move items to the sprints from the backlog as of right now. However, you bring up a good point. I will make note of that for the next generation of enhancements to skinnyboard.com. In the mean time, what I suggest you do is edit the story on the product backlog or sprint, copy the text and add a new story back in to the product backlog. Thanks for your insight and for trying skinnyboard. Regards, Josh |

Topic: We Want Your Feedback / Forum login flow I went to login on Chrome to reply to some threads (as FF 3.5 is not supported) and it did not recognize my password, some suggestions: • When logging in and failing it gives you no errors, just blanks the fields and adds /session to the URL Now I looked in my spam folder (using gMail) and I found an activation email. I clicked the link and I can now log in. So I would suggest a simple ‘You need to activate your account before you can login’ message when you fail to log in. Please delete the account ‘davidscott2’ I made it to post this before I found the email in my spam folder. |
